Top 3 Most Ridiculously Impressive Pool Table Modifications
1. Changing the shape of the pool table.
Then some drunk kids in some college dorm rooms saw what this innovative mind had done, so they thought to do this.
Changing the shape of the table is something that should have happened a long time ago. Frankly I am surprised that tournaments are solely played on rectangular tables. People change the rules of billiards or pool all the time, just look at all the different games you can play.
So why not mix up the shape of the table? Doesn’t seem like a bad idea to me. Well, the L shape one seems a little funky, but I haven’t tried it yet so I couldn’t really say.
2. Glass Top Tables
This is a more recent modification that is taking a very contemporary approach to the very traditional game.
The glass is coated with a patented resin that is obviously see-through and works to provide the same resistance to the pool balls that you would expect from a normal cloth covered table.
The downside to this is that the table can cost as much as 5o thousand dollars.
3. Digitally Enhanced Pool Table
Once you have a table with a glass top the next logical step is to use a high-definition digitally-enhanced monitor as the playing surface.
Yes, the imagery responds in real time to every single shot. This table is going to cost a pretty penny. The first models went for 200 thousand dollars, but now they have dropped to a modest 125 thousand. I would hold off from buying this one for a couple of years, until the price has dropped.
