Positional Play

No matter what game you are playing positional play is going to make you a much more effective player.  Whether the game is 9-ball, 8-ball, straight pool, or one pocket, you are going to want to think through your shots before you play them. With the proper practice this will become easier and easier over time.

Look at the object ball you wish to pocket.  This is the first step.  From there you have to determine where you want your cue ball to land on the table next.  If you are able to position your cue ball where you want it, you will be more adequately set up for the next shot.

The overall objective is to control the cue ball.There are are a few different tricks to learn in order to make this happen.  practice developing your drag, back spin, roll, and English.Learn how to use each of these different techniques to your advantage, and you will be able to place the cue ball anywhere on the table.
